Long awaited update...

It's been a while since we updated! Our Father's Day was nice. Michael wanted an old school nintendo for Father's Day, so we got him one, and he loved it! We had steaks, feta salad, potatoes, and ice cream cake for dinner. We had a really fun day/night with Michael. He is an amazing father, and he deserved to feel special on Father's Day.

Here we are on Father's Day. This picture was taken in our dining room.

A couple of days after Father's Day Wesley and I were treated to a trip to the zoo from my really sweet Mother in-law (Wesley's favorite Grandma)! We had a lot of fun looking at all the animals. Our favorites were the giraffes and the gorillas. Wesley actually asked me if he could go play with the gorillas and was very disappointed when I told him that they couldn't play together. He was so excited to see all the different animals. He sees them in his books, his movies, and on tv, but to see them in person was a real treat. I had the most fun watching the happiness on his face.

This was taken on the car ride to the zoo. He was loving his sunglasses - even though they were on upside down!

Here we are looking so cool together :-)

The silly giraffe was licking the pole!

He we are in front of the gorilla area.

So yes, we have been busy, but we have been having lots of fun! Hope everyone is doing well!

Time sure does fly

My, how time does fly... I have been going through all of our pictures the past couple of days, and found myself in shock at how quickly Wesley is growing up. I thought it would be fun to post a few pictures to show how much he has grown and changed since was born 2 years and 7 months ago.

Poof!

Wesley is such a stinker sometimes. Today we were in my bedroom together, and I was doing something and didn't have my full attention on Wesley. Well, I looked up from what I was doing to see that he grabbed the bottle of Gold Bond Powder and POOF! It was all over his cheek and his shirt! I told him he was in time out so I could get him to sit down and be still... I wanted to take a picture before he managed to wipe it off of himself. I wasn't upset with him at all about it, but if I hadn't told him he was in time out and to sit down, he would have climbed up my little stool to get to the mirror on my vanity so he could see himself and wipe it off! It was too cute not to take a picture of.

Isn't he adorable? I think he knew I wasn't really upset with him. I was laughing about it and telling him to say cheese!

As you can all see, my camera is working perfectly! Maybe it caught wind of my disappointment and decided to start being nice? Who knows, but at least it's working!

So... I had a really special experience tonight while I was reading my scriptures. Lately I have had this whole baby making stuff on my mind 24/7. It consumes my thoughts. I thought for so long that after I had Wesley, getting pregnant the second time wouldn't be as emotionally stressful because I would already have a child, but that is not the case. I find myself even more emotional this time rather than the first go round. Why? I have seen what love Wesley has brought into my life and how much closer Michael and I have become because of our beautiful little boy... and having another baby will add even more love to our little family.

Well, back to my little experience tonight... I was sitting and reading my scriptures after my nightly shower. I pondered a bit tonight about the whole situation, and actually found myself thinking intensely about a couple of things, then asking myself if what I was feeling was The Lord trying to comfort me and inform me, or if I was just being emotional about it. Sometimes I have a hard time knowing the difference between my emotions and The Spirit trying to guide me. Well, after those thoughts went through my head, I kid you not, I opened my scriptures to do my nightly personal study and read the most amazing thing.

Holy Bible, St. Mathew 21: 21-22

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, if ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be though removed, and be though cast into the sea; it shall be done.

22 And all things whatsoever ya shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

After I read just those two verses I knew it was NO MISTAKE that I happened to be on this chapter in St. Mathew tonight. Those two verses answered my question and even more told me not to doubt. I know better than to doubt The Lord, but sometimes I need to be reminded.

I feel so comforted and so at peace with everything. Of course I will still think about things and pray, but I feel that now I will be a little more at ease about things. It's just amazing what God can do for you when you are willing to open your heart and listen.

Michael = Spider-Man

We had a fun day yesterday. I made a chocolate silk pie for us, and then we went outside after dinner to play for a while.

I let Wesley lick the bowl after I made the chocolate silk pie mixture... he enjoyed it very much!

He wasn't on his best behavior, so to time out he went. His time out in the living room is a little foot stool my Grandma Laura sent to me a couple of years ago. He sits on it, folds his arms, and looks at the wall until we tell him he's all done. He's pretty good about it most of the time.

Look VERY closely... if you need to click the picture so it shows up larger... so you see the man hanging from the second story window? That's Michael (now known as Spider-Man)! He was being silly last night and while Wesley and I were in the living room he went outside and crawled up the wall and yelled into the window to scare us! We were laugh so hard about it and thought it was so funny that we went outside and had him do it again so I could snap a picture. He can jump really high... maybe that's why he is so good at basketball?

This is a picture of our house. We had it painted recently. White, and the front foor and shutters are navy blue. The car in the drive way is my girlfriends... our cars are inside the garage. Oh, and of course the two furry friends you see in the grass are Rue and Sammy.

So that's what we were up to yesterday evening!
