Let's start with Wesley's haircut. He was taking a bath and I thought it was a good time to get out the scissors and trim things up a bit. He didn't agree with me 100%, but with my promises of rainbow sherbert, he perked up and welcomed my idea of a haircut. He wasn't too good during the process, but he calmed down after he realized I wasn't going to cut his ear off. He kept grabbing at them and telling me no! It was cute.
Well the next day our church had a softball game and picnic at a local park. We packed up our little family and headed out. We were having a lot of fun, until Michael's foot got caught in a hole on the field and twisted his foot/ankle around pretty good.
I was sitting in a chair playing with my girlfriends baby, when I hear people shouting for me to bring some ice. So look up to see Michael sitting on the ground looking not so hot. I got him the ice and some friends helped him to a chair. I was worried about his pain level, so I asked him how bad it was, as I was asking him, he turned pail, his eyes rolled back, and he passed out. That was scary to say the least. I started screaming for help and made an idiot out of myself to say the least (I am so good at that! haha).
He finally came too and a good friend of ours took a look at his foot/ankle and said nothing was broken most likely, and just to ice/elevate it.
When we got home and started to swell pretty bad, so the next day we took him to the ER. After x-rays, it was confirmed that nothing was broken. He just needed a brace around his ankle, some mortin, and rest.
The not so great part about the injury was the timing. You see, we planned a little vacation to Cincinnati (2 hours from where we live). We were going to drive to Vegas but money and time would not allow, so we decided we needed to get away, and Cincinnati was perfect! We were able to go to a Red's Baseball Game, go to a water park, and have a hotel for, get ready $130!!! Great deal, huh?!?! We ended up saving money by not going to Las Vegas! It was hard for Michael to get around, but it kind of helped us out a bit.
Our Red's tickets were only $5 per person, and Wesley was free, so that is $10 of course. Well, our seats were pretty awful (that's why they were so cheap). They were up in the nose bleed section and we had to climb stairs to get to them. One of the Red's stadium workers saw Michael limping, saw me with a stroller, and told us to follow him. He took us to some GREAT seats! We were off of third base and had our own little area to ourselves. Wesley was able to run around and we didn't have to go up or down any stairs! We had a blast at the game. There were 12 innings and the Red's won it with a walk off hit. It was amazing! It's always fun to see the home team win.
Now the water park was the hardest part for poor Michael. Our tickets to the park we got at a HUGE discount because we opted to go after 4pm when the rates went down. We paid $20 for the three of us opposed to nearly $50! Michael was able to ride the little lazy river they had (in a tube) but that was it. We still managed to have fun. Wesley LOVED IT! He was running around shivering from the cold water, but that didn't stop him!
So all in all, we had a great trip. We needed the small get away. We haven't been on a REAL vacation since we have been married, so this was VERY welcomed. Michael needed it more than any of us. He works and goes to school not stop and it was so nice to see him so happy.
Below are some pictures of our past weeks happenings!

The police in the downtown area ride horses. This officer was very nice, and let us pet "Copper" his horse.
