Ahh... privacy!

For the longest time I didn't put any details about our move back "west" because I was worried some psycho would read it, etc. I know, I worry too much, BUT, better safe than sorry!

So, we are back in Las Vegas (we are in North Las Vegas - Aliante) and we are happy. We miss Louisville a lot, but we know this is where we need to be right now.

A lot of you don't know this, but Michael went back to school. He is attending Chapman University in Orange, California (it's basically in the LA area). He is going for a Masters of Law. He is living in a huge house with 7 other guys who all are members of our church and return missionaries.

He is in California Monday nights, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then heads back here to Vegas LATE Thursday nights, and arrives in the early hours of the morning on Friday, then he is ours for the weekend.

We miss him, a lot. We got web cams which helps, but it still isn't the same.

I am having a hard time sleeping at night because first of all, I am using to cuddling up to him, and second, I am so freaked out being alone.

Sophia is fine with everything, because honestly she is way to young to know the difference, but Wesley is a mess. He cries everyday and especially when it is time to say goodnight to Daddy on the web cam.

I am dealing with things so-so. I know it wont last forever, and I get to see him on the weekends, but I still miss him. As far as taking care of the kids by myself goes... wow, it's tough! I didn't realize what a HUGE help Michael was when he would get home from work every evening! He would help with the kiddos while I made dinner, did dishes, he would help with bath time, brushing teeth, bedtimes stories, tucking in, etc... and now it's all on me... and get this, it's only been two days! I suppose I am a bit of a whimp? haha!

As far as being back in Vegas goes, I am enjoying it.

I am hoping to make some friends in my new ward, but so far, no luck. Everyone is SUPER nice and I enjoy seeing them at church, but I really want to just sit and chat girl talk, mommy stuff, go shopping, etc. I REALLY need it! I have always needed a "girlfriend", you know?

So now that our blog is private, I will finally be able to talk about so much more!

You never can be too careful!

Trip to California...

I had to post this first. It sums up our trip in one picture! We had SO much fun! Here we are laying in the grass just relaxing together.....
We really enjoyed our trip to California together. We haven't had a couple of days - just the two of us, well, for a long time!

We started our trip with lunch at a hotel on the way out of town (it was a cheap lunch - 9 bucks for the both of us, but there is a funny story that goes with that, I will share it someday if I remember!). (And yes, I cut my hair. My hair was long, the lady messed up, and had to chop it off - fun stuff I tell ya.)
The "Mormon Frat House".

This hangs above the front door - I LOVE it!

Michael's bed.. hm.. doesn't look too comfy to me.

Michael's okay with it

The kitchen. (It was pretty clean for being in a house with 8 men!)

Pool in the backyard.

The evening we arrived in California we headed to the beach for a walk together at sunset.

I love this picture - the waves ocean and the color of the sky in the back is so beautiful!

Michael relaxing at our hotel - The Marriott - it was HEAVEN on earth!

The law school

In front of the school - ahhhh.... so beautiful!

All I can say is, here we go again! (I thought we were DONE with school - I guess I spoke too soon!)

Our last day there we met up with my Grandpa Howard and enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Daily Grill (Fashion Island, Newport California) and we did a little window shopping. Thanks so much for lunch Grandpa Howard, it was great!

Grandpa Howard and I. It was SO great to see him and spend time with him after so long.

Just FYI - we ARE going private THIS WEEK. I know I've said it before, but I am just now getting around to it. If you responded on the other post with your email, then disregard this, but if you have NOT given me your email address, then you will NOT be able to access our blog as of later this week, so comment on this with your email if you still want access to our blog! Thanks!

A very special visitor

This past Saturday and today we were so blessed to be able to spend time with my Grandma Eiko! We haven't seen her since Wesley was 6 weeks old. It was so heartwarming to see her holding the kids, talking to Wesley, and to see my children enjoying her as I did when I was their age.

On Saturday she treated us to the Las Vegas Buddhist Sanga Bon Odori at my old high school. It was so much fun! They had people dressed in traditional Japanese Clothing, doing traditional dances, and they has delicious food as well.

Wesley and Sophia had a lot of fun getting up and dancing with everyone. I have to say I enjoyed doing it too!

Today we met Grandma Eiko for lunch. The kids enjoyed all the yummy food (okay, I will admit, I enjoyed it too!), but I think the most enjoyable part of lunch was getting to spend time with such a special lady!

I wish so badly that my Grandfather (my dads dad - his name was Wesley, and my dads name is Wesley, and that's were my little guy gets his name from!) were here to see the kids. He would have loved them so much. I know he's looking down from above, watching, and smiling.

Grandma Eiko - we love you and want to thank you for taking time to come and visit us, the two nice lunches, and most of all, for letting us spend time with you! We can't wait to see you again!

Wesley being cute as we wait for Grandma Eiko

You can see Sophia enjoyed the appetizer

Grandma Eiko and Little Wessy

I am going to print this picture and put it in each of the children's albums, and of course, keep a copy for myself and hang it up.

Look at those smiles!

Almost forgot...

Whoops, I almost forgot these!

Sophia at a buffet, LOVING the chocolate cream pie

Summer Fun

We are finally starting to adjust to our new lives and all the big changes that have taken place. We love our home, and we are enjoying spending time with my family and friends!

Onto pictures...
My mom and Sophia
Sophia LOVES shoes, I mean LOVESSSSSS them! She is always bringing me her shoes, and wants me to put them on her. She is my daughter without a doubt!

You've got to love her pink jammies with the frogs. My mom got them for her, and she looks adorable, as she always does!

Look at her showing me the shoe - I told you she loves them!

Look at that cute little bum!

I love this little girl

She is all things girly, but I do have to admit, she loves taking Wesley's trains and checking them out!

Wesley's first time buying something from the ice cream truck (excuse the blown over trash cans, it was windy that day!)

Wesley paying for his treat

He got a Sponge Bob Ice Cream bar... yum!

Wesley fell asleep cuddled up with Rue the other day. (This is Wesley's room and his new bed. His walls are NOT pink. They are a kind of burnt orange color. He wants them this color, so what can I do?)

She always wants to be sitting with mommy

Look at her chubby little thighs - I am happy to report, that she is finally gaining some weight, per her pediatricians request!
