Happy Halloween!

October has been a busy month for us... I am happy to report it was filled with fun (a couple of colds), and lots of laughter and smiles! We are ready for the month of November - celebrating the birthday for Wesley, family visiting, his baptism, Thanksgiving, and so much more! It will be a month of thanks, that's for sure!

Getting ready to carve our little pumpkin

Halloween night... it was collllld!

My Hansel and Gretel

Sophia was so excited with every house, she ran!!!

Here she is in action running up the driveway to go get some candy. They were both so sweet and so polite! I love my kids. They truly are my miracles and Michael and I are so grateful to be sealed to them forever!

Happy Halloween!

Scriptures!

This is Wesley's scripture tote we bought him. My dad bought the scriptures (quad). I thought it would be fun to see if I could get his name on it with my sewing machine, and low and behold, I did it! It is the cutest tote, it has an actual compass on the zipper, to represent the Liahona. Wesley is thrilled with his scriptures from his Papaw and Mamaw and his tote from mama and daddy!

Wesley's Baptismal Interview

Wesley had his baptismal interview tonight. It was so sweet watching him walk into the Bishops office with a big smile and to see him come out with an even BIGGER smile!

A picture of me blowing out my birthday candles (all 30!) with the kids. Thanks Chelsey for the picture!

My Next 30 Years - Tim McGraw

This song is so true when it comes to my turning 30 - just replace the less beer part ;-)

I think I'll take a moment, celebrate my age
The ending of an era and the turning of a page
Now it's time to focus in on where I go from here
Lord have mercy on my next thirty years

Hey my next thirty years I'm gonna have some fun
Try to forget about all the crazy things I've done
Maybe now I've conquered all my adolescent fears
And I'll do it better in my next thirty years

My next thirty years I'm gonna settle all the scores
Cry a little less, laugh a little more
Find a world of happiness without the hate and fear
Figure out just what I'm doing here
In my next thirty years

Oh my next thirty years, I'm gonna watch my weight
Eat a few more salads and not stay up so late
Drink a little lemonade and not so many beers
Maybe I'll remember my next thirty years

My next thirty years will be the best years of my life
Raise a little family and hang out with my wife
Spend precious moments with the ones that I hold dear
Make up for lost time here, in my next thirty years
In my next thirty years

The big 30!

What a wonderful birthday! It started with hugs and kisses from the kids and Michael. For breakfast they treated me to some yummy chocolate, and gave me my gifts. I got some really pretty smelling lotion, candy, and, Michael bought me a new wedding ring set, engagement ring and all!

Michael and I got a sitter and enjoyed a nice lunch, just the two of us... then Michael threw a party for me!

In the evening our friends came and celebrated with us. We had so much fun!

I have to admit, I was really bummed because I wanted my best friend Chelsey to come, but she lives over an hour away, works full time, and doesn't get off until 9pm.... or so I thought...

I was inside the house when someone told me that I had a present outside... I go to the front door, and there she is, Chelsey! I started to cry I was so happy! She is such an amazing friend to make the sacrifice of her time to come up and celebrate my birthday with me.

To all of my family and friends who called, emailed, texted, facebooked me, came to my party, etc., thank you so very much. It means so much to know I am cared about by so many!

So, now what to do... I'm 30, my birthday has come and gone....

It brings to mind the song by Tim McGraw, my next 30 years... "my next 30 years will be the best years of my life".....

Best friends! Chelsey and I!

The kids had fun partying too!

We had a full house!

 Yep, 30 candles...

My new rings. I couldn't love them more, well, actually, I couldn't love my husband more for being so thoughtful in getting me a special gift for my milestone birthday. Thank you so much Michael, I love you!

Sneak Peak...

We got our family pictures taken by the talented Brittni Contsans ( I highly recommend her). This is a sneak peak of some unedited photos... the "professionals" will take some time, but this sneak peak is awesome!

(The wind was blowing, thus our hair was all over the place, but we still love how they turned out!)

Ballet/Dance Bag

I made a  post a couple of weeks ago showcasing the ballet/dance tote I made for Sophia to carry her dance stuff in... it was plain... I wanted to dress it up a bit.

I dug through my fabric bin and found a bit of lace and some pretty dark pink fabric. After a lot of work, I was able to cut, and sew on ballet slippers, and ruffles from the lace on two sides of the bag for a little delicate *pop*!

I LOVE how it turned out. I think I may add her name to the other side of the bag at some point, but for now, I am happy as can be with how it turned out. Sewing stuff on like that isn't easy!

Now I need to get busy on some project's I've got brewing in my crafty mind for my niece, Julia, who will be here soon! I've got to get workin'!

You can click on the pictures to enlarge them. Now please, remember, I am by no means a professorial sewer, so be kind with your judging ;-)

This lace was actually on a shirt and I was able to cut it off and re-purpose it!

All done!

My 300th post!

We had another fun filled Family Home Evening with the kids. Who knew 300 posts ago that my life would be where it is now. Living up far up north, Michael being an attorney at a great firm, two kids, and just how great life would be!

Tonight we had a lesson on building an eternal family and to go along with the lesson, we built a haunted gingerbread house. The lesson went along well with the activity. We had a lot of fun.. especially the kids... they taste tested the treats that went on the house :-)

Building our haunted house

Cheese!

Michael really got into making the house

Our Rue dog. He's always sitting by my side, he's so loving and faithful. I love this dog!

The finished product! We sure had a lot of fun and are looking forward to another Halloween themed activity next week!

Wesley goes to a birthday party

This past weekend Wesley had the chance to attend his best friend Tony's birthday party at a local indoor water park/hotel. Tony's mom was nice enough to share the pictures she took.

Best friends, so cute!

Gobbling up some pizza. I love Tony's smile in this picture.

Playing in the arcade

Wesley had a lot of fun swimming, playing video games, and playing in the arcade Thank you Tony for the fun party! Happy Birthday!

Fall is here!

My sweet boy enjoying the fresh fall air while reading a book!

He loves to read...

He's got a stack of books ready to go...

Sophia enjoying this beautiful fall day as well, playing on the swing set.

This is just part of the view we get to enjoy from our patio/living room/kitchen/dining room. We LOVE it!

Tonight for Family Home Evening we made these super cute and fun crafts together! They really got us into the Halloween spirit and we had a blast making them together!

Mine is on the left Michael's is on the right

Wesley's is on the left and Sophia's is on the right.

As soon as fall hits, the Family Home Evenings are SO much fun because there are so many fun crafts/games to do/play.

Next week we will play a game of pin the grin on the pumpkin, and then make some sort of cute craft. Target has been such a great source for our crafts. Tonight's craft came in one box and cost me $5. I saw the idea for pin the grin on the pumpkin at Target too, but they wanted $10, so I will just print out a pumpkin at home, and print a grin ;-)
